Commissioning a Mural The mural process begins as a collaborative effort between both client and artist. The project size and subject matter are generally discussed and from there a free consultation is scheduled (long distance can be done via phone or e-mail). Some clients may have a specific theme in mind. Particular reference and images are discussed and suggestions are made. Upon arriving at an agreed idea, the client is asked to advance payment for preliminary sketches and project plans. The ideas previously agreed upon are then taken to be researched and laid out into a mural design including detailed paintings. These project plans are then presented to the client along with a job estimate for approval. One half of the job total is then required so that materials etc. can be purchased. The job is then scheduled. Upon project completion pictures of the finished mural are then sent to the client, along with a request for the remaining half of the total payment. Upon receiving payment in full the completed mural is then packaged and shipped to the client to be hung by professional wall paper hangers. |
